I admire your efforts to become healthier. It's ridiculous that you were told you should work in fast food! People are ignorant, or just don't care! It's a shame!

Documenting your health journey is a great idea and an admirable project! I was disgusted by the "conversation" you had to endure and the lack of compassion in our broken Healthcare system. Your voice speaks for many disabled and folks with chronic health conditions. Don't give up! ❤️‍🩹

I think you are amazing! You are truly doing the work, and not just the physical aspect. You are changing your thought process and you are healing in so many ways. It’s uncomfortable and is often the stuff that makes us question if we can really keep on doing it! But you ARE doing it, and you will continue to get better, to love yourself, and to inspire so many of us! Thank you for sharing your journey. Your Sophie knows how lucky she is to have you as her mother ♥️ Keep on being awesome, and know that we all have your back!

I think you should offer yourself grace and forgiveness. I suspect you feel guilty because of how hard it is to do anything and you have unreasonable expectations for yourself. It is *HARD* to function at all and I am impressed at your perseverance. It doesn’t matter if you disappoint anyone, except your daughter - and you won’t. Because you show her your love and how to cope when things are impossibly difficult. Do your worst - or your best - we are on your side!

That sounds like an infuriating experience with the SNAP coordinator (or whatever their title is). You need help paying for food for you and Sophie. You were honest. You explained your situation. I hate this fucking country and its bootstrap mentality. Universal healthcare would go a long way towards alleviating so much of your burden, here. You work hard, Shannon. The fact that this person questioned that is bullshit - I think writing about this is a great plan and hope it's empowering for you (and I have no doubt it will help others in similar circumstances too). Much love to you and Sophie.
