Sophie's Party

A week ago on Sunday, we celebrated Sophie’s 11th birthday with a party at a Chattanooga mall. For the most part, Sophie doesn't know what malls used to be for my generation. In the 90s and 00s, malls were the premiere place to hang out with friends or even on your own.

These days, many malls seem to be struggling to survive, and we rarely drive out to any malls in our area since my mobility went downhill. This year, though, Sophie wanted to have her birthday party at Build-a-Bear Workshop, and there's only one of those in the region. That meant Sophie was going to have a mall party.
